If you are in the process of looking for a home to purchase, then you know important it is to find a home that is a good fit for you and your family. Thankfully, here are several different online tools that you can use that will help make the process much easier and much more successful for you.

The greatest part about almost all of these tools is that they are free, so you don't have to worry about coming up with extra money when you are already trying to save for a house. This article will discuss 2 online tools to use when buying a house.

Real Estate Listing Sites

There are several different sites that compile all of the real estate listings in an area into one location. This will include both homes that are listed through different real estate agencies in the area, as well as homes that are for sale by owner. The listing for each home will generally include several pictures, detailed information about the property, as well as the address of the home and or property.

These sites also have different search filters that you can use to narrow down your search. For example, if you would like to only look at homes that have 3 or more bedrooms, then you can easily do this by customizing your search. This can stop you from wasting a great deal of time sifting through homes that will not meet your needs, and will instead allow you to get the ball rolling.

Online Maps

If you are moving to an area that you are unfamiliar with, then using online maps can be very beneficial for you. You can put the different addresses for homes into an online map website, and from there you can see exactly where the home is located, what is surrounding it, how big the property is, etc. Many online maps have both a map view and a satellite view, so you can actually see what the house looks like in real life, as well as everything that is surrounding it.

You can also view how close it is to different things, like the schools, the park, different kinds of stores, the doctor's office, etc. This can be very helpful to see if it is close enough to your work, if it is in the school district that you would like your children to attend, if it has a fun park for your kids to play at, etc.
